Lesson Types
The Music Bus Rocks! offer private and group lessons for groups of 2-6 students.
Private Lessons
Students receive weekly one-on-one intruction from our skilled teachers. Each lesson covers music theory alongside the development of the student’s chosen instrument in order to build them into a proficient and capable musician.
Group Lessons
Group lessons range from 2-6 students. Each lesson covers music theory alongside the development of their specific instrument. Group lessons are great for learning how to play and improvise with other musicians.
School Programs
We offer daily rates for schools, daycares, and afterschool programs to make lessons affordable for your student’s families. Contact us for more information.
How Do I Join A Group?
If you have a group of students interested in taking group lessons, we can help arrange it all. If you are interested in joining a group lesson, we will work to fit you into a new or existing group lesson.
The Music Bus Rocks! Mission
The Music Bus ROCKS! is Austin’s only mobile rock school. We make music lessons convenient by bringing a fully equipped music rehearsal studio right to your doorstep.
Our unique teaching method focuses on giving students the musical tools and training to help them grow and develop into real musicians. We strive to bring out the best in students by teaching them music theory alongside the development of their specific instrument. We teach them how to listen and play with others, and we provide the opportunity to perform several times per year.
We focus on providing the very best instructors by paying an industry-leading wage to all of our teachers and providing a positive and supportive work environment. We want to foster a love and appreciation of music in our students, our teachers, and our community.

The Music Bus Story
The Music Bus ROCKS! was founded in 2011 by Nathan Anderson in an effort to make music education more accessible.
With a new and improved team in place, The Music Bus Rocks! is very excited to launch a grand re-opening in Northwest Austin in early 2023! We hope you’ll join us for the ride!
Nathan moved to Austin from Maryland in 2009 after completing a degree in Music Education from Salisbury University. After teaching for local music schools and witnessing the decline of music education programs in public schools, the idea and method for The Music Bus ROCKS! was born.
